Personal Agent Protocol: what you can prepare now

The PAP specification is not out yet. PACT has public documentation. Prepare discovery, authorisation and billing without claiming an integration that does not exist.

PAP announced; specification planned for October

Meta and Sierra announced the Personal Agent Protocol (PAP) on 6 October 2026. The proposal addresses personal agents' access to businesses. Sierra plans to publish specification v0.1 later in October. On 7 October, the official announcement does not yet provide that specification.

The announcement describes sessions based on OAuth, an authorisation standard, with read or write access chosen by the customer. Interfaces can be the website, APIs or the business's agent. Payments appear as a future extension. Heise's headline does not prove that PAP already processes payments.

PACT already has a public specification

Decagon published Personal Agent Consent & Trust (PACT), developed with Instinct. It uses Agent2Agent (A2A) for communication and OAuth for authorisation. It separates the agent platform's identity from the permission granted by the customer. PACT and PAP are separate initiatives.

The documentation lets developers study the contract and test an implementation. A compatibility claim requires proof of discovery, identity, consent, limits, revocation and receipts in the actual flow.

Prepare the access that already exists

A business can publish integration entry points, access rules and prices. Each operation must still check identity, the resource and authorisation. Discovery grants no permission. Payment for a query grants no access to another person's account.

We publish an independent discovery profile, version 0.1, linked below. It lists existing interfaces and declares access boundaries. It does not implement PAP, PACT or delegated OAuth. We can prepare agent entry points without inventing Sierra's forthcoming format.

Consulting can map actions, connect APIs and prepare authorisation and cost controls. Diagnosis, implementation and continuing operation are priced by proposal. Send the flow that you want to automate to define the scope.
